Beam 2D 3.0 (16-bit) Evaluation Download

Beam 2D version 3.0 (16-bit) is provided for archive purposes and for users who still operate Windows 3.1 or Windows for Workgroups. Beam 2D Version 3.1 (32-bit) is the current version and is available for download.

For your convenience, there are two separate download procedures:

Procedure 1: Installation of Beam 2D Strss Analysis on a this computer. If you need to create a floppy disk setup use Procedure 2 below.

To install Beam 2D on this computer:

• Download Beam2D.exe install file to a folder on your hard drive .
• Using Windows Explorer select the previously chosen folder and execute Beam 2D.exe.
  Note: A file is run (executed) by double-clicking it in the Windows Explorer window. If your Windows Explorer is configured to hide registered extensions then BEAM2D.EXE may appear as BEAM2D with no extension.
• Follow the instructions.

Procedure 2: This procedure will create two floppy disks so that Beam 2D can be installed on a different computer system than it was downloaded to. The created floppy disks may also be used to install Beam 2D on this computer; however, procedure 1 above offers a faster method to do that. The downloaded setup files named Disk1.exe and Disk2.exe are compressed self-extracting files. When executed, these files will automatically decompress and produce ready-to-install files which will fit onto two floppy disks.

Download and installation procedure (you may want to print this page for reference): 

• Download Disk1.exe and Disk2.exe files to a folder on your hard drive .
• Have two blank, freshly formatted floppy disks ready and labeled 'Beam 2D Stress Analysis Disk 1' and 'Beam 2D Stress Analysis Disk 2'. Note: These must be high density disks with the minimum capacity of 1.44 MB each (the standard high density 3.5" floppy disks are O.K.)
• Using Windows Explorer select the previously chosen folder and execute Disk1.exe following instructions.
  Note: A file is run (executed) by double-clicking it in the Windows Explorer window. If your Windows Explorer is configured to hide registered extensions then Disk1.exe may appear as Disk1 with no extension.
• Repeat the above step with Disk2.exe.
• To install Beam 2D in Windows, execute Setup.exe located on 'Beam 2D Disk 1'.

After the Beam 2D floppy disks are created you may delete Disk1.exe and Disk2.exe from the hard drive.
